Frequently Asked Questions

How much do CPR and BLS classes cost?

Basic Life Support (BLS) is $70 for new or expired providers, or $60 to renew, plus a $20 BLS workbook — $90 or $80 total. HeartSaver Total is $85 plus a $10 workbook — $95 total. For team or workplace training, contact us for group pricing.

How long is a BLS or CPR certification valid?

Most Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR course completion cards are valid for two years from the date they are issued. Plan to renew before your card expires so your certification never lapses.

Is the certification AHA-issued and accepted by employers?

Yes. Every class is taught by an American Heart Association-certified instructor, and the certifications you earn are AHA-issued eCards — accepted nationwide by hospitals, licensing boards, schools, and workplace safety programs.

What’s the difference between BLS and Heartsaver CPR?

BLS (Basic Life Support) is built for healthcare providers and professional rescuers — it covers team-based resuscitation, high-quality CPR for every age group, and AED use. Heartsaver courses are built for the general public and workplace responders who need solid CPR and first aid skills but don’t work in a clinical role.

Do I need to be a healthcare worker to take a class?

No. BLS courses are aimed at healthcare and professional-rescuer roles, but the Total HeartSaver course is open to anyone — parents, caregivers, teachers, coaches, and workplace safety teams.

My certification has already expired — can I still renew?

Yes. If your card has already lapsed, take the New/Expired Basic Life Support Provider class rather than the renewal class. The renewal class is for providers whose certification is still current.

Are the classes hands-on?

Yes. Every class is taught in person in Pueblo with hands-on skills practice on manikins. CPR and AED use are physical skills — practicing them in person is how they stick.

When do I get my certification card?

Your AHA eCard is emailed to you within 24 hours of completing the class — often sooner. You can show or print it for your employer or licensing board as needed.

How do I sign up, or book a class for my team?

Pick a class above and reserve your spot online. If you need an urgent class to keep a certification current, or a private class for your team or workplace, text or call 719-470-0308.
